Usually, when Azealia Banks is in the news it’s the result of some feud or ill-advised Twitter tirade.
Just last week, Banks wore "whiteface" in a controversial selfie. Prior to that she slammed Kendrick Lamar on Twitter for making comments that she considered to be racist.
Needless to say, the girl loves attention, and her preferred method of drumming up publicity is to let loose with a racially-charged rant. (She referred to last night’s Grammy Awards as a "mayonnaise on Wonder Bread sandwich with a glass of milk.")
But the firebrand social critic routine might eventually grow stale (if it hasn’t already), so Ms. Banks is hatching a tried-and-true plan B that she’s sure to keep her trending.
Playboy announced over the weekend that Banks posed for a revealing pictorial that will appear in their April issue:
"The badass rapper from Harlem is ready to show the world what else she’s got – literally – in a frisky Playboy pictorial that’s sure to break the Internet," reads a statement from the iconic men’s magazine.
"Break the Internet" might be a bit of an exaggeration, especially since Azealia poses topless and posts photos of herself in various states of undress on a regular basis.
But hey, we’re excited. Anything that gets Banks to stop tweeting for a few minutes can’t be a bad thing.
