BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Sawtooth Avalanche Center says avalanche danger is Considerate (Sawtooth and Western Smokey Mountains, Galena Summit and Eastern Mountains) and Moderate (Banner Summit, Soldier and Wood River Valley Mountains), according to a Facebook post.
Avalanche conditions remain tricky and dangerous across much of the forecast area. Sawtooth Avalanche Center says a person could trigger a 2-4 foot thick avalanche on some slopes. Unfortunately, figuring out exactly which slopes are dangerous is almost impossible.
Any slide triggered has the potential to be very large and unsurvivable.
